There are very few people that can take a song and transform it into something completely different with excellence and precision. Toronto punk band Dilly Dally is one of those rarities.
The group played a number of times in New York last week as a part of the annual CMJ music festival and surfaced as one of the most talked about groups to perform throughout it.
During a particularly memorable performance, the group ran through a rendition of Drake’s musical homage to Toronto, Know Yourself.
Front-woman Kate Monks’ ability to take a song like Know Yourself and transform the vocals alone in a way that she did is a sobering reminder that two seemingly opposite genres mix and mix well.
