I’m sorry in advance, but let’s just rip this joke off like a Band-Aid, shall we? Because these guys should probably be called GOODGOODNOTBAD. …That wasn’t so bad, was it?
Coming off a successful European tour,BADBADNOTGOOD have recently made the cover of Exclaim! Magazine, and with good reason. Hailing from Toronto, this trio of adorable homegrown Canadian boys are cranking out all kinds of eerie, jazzy, hip-hop inspired badassery.
Their early claims to fame included covers of a handful of hip-hop tracks, ranging from Slum Village’s “Fall in Love” to Gucci Mane’s “Lemonade.”
But BBNG are no one-trick ponies. Since meeting in 2010, they have released three original full-length albums, the most recent of which includes the track that I have yet to take off repeat, “Hedron.”
“Hedron” is the first of two singles off their third album, III; the second being “CS60,” which is available for download on Bandcamp.
Luckily for all of us, they recently announced their North American Riding in Cars with Boyz tour. Canadian stops include Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Antigonish.
Torontonians – They will be playing the Field Trip Music and Arts Festival in Toronto on June 8.
Montrealers – BADBADNOTGOOD will be gracing Club Soda with their presence as part of the Jazz Fest on July 5.
