It was a short summer Charlie Brown, one glorious Saturday in April, before we fell back into winter.
Here are 3 recent releases, restrained and lingering, just like spring, to help you fall in a trance like state of prayer. In no particular order.
Timber Timbre – Hot Dreams
Because this album really is hot. It is a token of Johnny-Cash-like charisma, of leather jackets, and of classy sundresses. The perfect soundtrack to a black and white movie. Listen here
The War on Drugs – Lost in the Dream
Because I dare you not to shake your hips. The War on Drugs sounds like a glorious collaboration by Bob Dylan and the Dire Straits, of course, back in the 80’s. This album is absolutely brilliant. Listen here
Metronomy – Love Letters
Because this is my favorite Metronomy album so far. It somehow perfectly recalls teenage angst as experienced by all 20-somethings, and leaves me completely subdued. Listen here
N.E.R.D – “Provider”
Because I have been listening to this song non-stop for years now, and nothing can wriggle spring into place better than Pharrell looking so damn cool on his bike.
